We can custom roll form floor decking for high load bearing floors. The floor structures are made by pouring concrete over the composite floor deck panels. At JDCC, we cut composite floor panels to almost any length.
Composite Steel Floor Deck has a ribbed profile with embossments designed to interlock with concrete slabs, creating a reinforced concrete slab that serves the dual purpose of a permanent form and positive reinforcement. A composite floor is comprised of a reinforced concrete floor slab and structural steel floor beams acting compositely together. The structure consists mainly of profiled steel decking working together with in-situ reinforced concrete. The decking rests over the structural steel floor beams network, which is erected using suitable means. This decking not only acts as permanent formwork to the concrete, but also provides sufficient shear bond with the concrete, so that the two materials act compositely together. Composite floor decks are mostly used to create a composite structure with the concrete slab that is poured upon it. The determining factors for selecting the proper composite deck are the depth of the slab, weight of the concrete (normal weight or lightweight), the support spacing and the uniform load you are trying to support.
Composite Floor Decks are available in 1-1/2”, 2”, or 3” Depths.
Gauges for form decks vary from 22 to 16 gauge, 20 & 18 gauges are the most common.
Normally used for spans of 4’-10’ with slabs of 4”-8” of concrete, and are used to create a composite action between the steel & concrete.
