Steel Structure Building Construction : Main Structural Steel Grades
1. Q235B (Carbon Structural Steel) The most widely used basic steel grade for light and medium steel buildings. Yield strength 235MPa, good weldability and formability, cost-effective. Suitable for purlins, wall beams, light warehouse columns and beams, and non-load-bearing auxiliary components.

2. Q355B (Low Alloy High-Strength Steel) The mainstream load-bearing steel grade for medium and heavy industrial steel buildings. Yield strength 355MPa, 50% higher bearing capacity than Q235B with similar weight. Standard for main beams and columns of heavy workshops, crane buildings and large-span warehouses.

3. Q460 / High-Strength Low Alloy Steel Used for ultra-heavy load scenarios: 50t+ overhead crane workshops, large-span space trusses and special heavy industrial structures. Higher strength reduces steel consumption and self-weight.

4. International Equivalent Grades

(1)ASTM standard: A36 (equivalent to Q235B), A572 Grade 50 (equivalent to Q355B) — North American market standard

(2)EN standard: S235JR (equivalent to Q235B), S355JR (equivalent to Q355B) — European market standard

(3)GOST standard: St3sp, 09G2S — Russia and Central Asia market standard
